Led by sisters Faye and Claire Newton, Liverpool Locations is built on deep local knowledge, long-standing relationships and the belief that Liverpool’s screen industry works best when people feel connected, supported and welcomed in.

Between us, we bring more than 50 years’ experience as film and TV location managers. Our combined credits span some of the UK and international industry’s biggest productions, including Peaky Blinders, Bridgerton, The Ipcress File, This City is Ours, Fountain of Youth for Apple TV and Amazon’s Heads of State. We’ve worked across the country – but Liverpool has always been home. As the most filmed city in the UK outside London, it’s the place where our expertise, networks and passion are put to practical use.

Liverpool Locations grew from a simple idea. We wanted to continue working at the highest level of film and television while building a business that fitted around life. That local knowledge matters. From historic streets and waterfronts to modern buildings and lived-in homes, Liverpool’s versatility on screen relies on professionals who understand both the city and its communities. Our work connects productions with people and places in a way that is practical, respectful and economically beneficial to the city.

At its core, Liverpool Locations is about connection and sharing knowledge and insights from inside the industry.

We support major productions by acting as a trusted point of contact for filming in and around the city, promoting locations, advising property owners and making sure that local opportunities are visible to the wider industry. Our growing locations database helps buildings and homeowners access film work in a transparent way, creating an additional income stream for local people while strengthening Liverpool’s appeal to producers and location managers across the North West.

We know how difficult it is for new entrants to break in – particularly those without existing contacts. Over the years, we’ve spent countless hours offering advice, reviewing CVs and introducing people where we can. We now deliver training in film and TV basics, location assistant training and CV workshops. These workshops help countless people gain confidence, skills and, crucially, real work.

That commitment to access and inclusion is most visible in Crew Night, our face-to-face event. One of the most recognisable and popular fixtures in Liverpool’s screen calendar. Designed deliberately to avoid corporate networking clichés, Crew Night is relaxed, friendly and open to everyone, from seasoned heads of department to those hoping to land their first job. Costume designers, camera operators, makeup artists, runners and location scouts all share the same space, building genuine relationships, that for many has lead directly to work.

Our work connects productions with trusted local knowledge, promoting Liverpool’s locations and nurturing its workforce, helping sustain the city’s reputation as a premier filming destination. Just as importantly, it helps ensure that the economic and creative benefits of that success are felt locally, by crew, property owners and new entrants finding their feet.
