Testimonials
“Liverpool Locations has provided me with the boost I needed to progress in the film and TV industry. Their training course helped me navigate and explore the locations department, an area I previously felt I lacked knowledge and confidence in. Claire and Faye connected me with invaluable contacts and gave me on-set experience which I’d found challenging to come by. As a recent graduate I felt I needed support and Liverpool Locations were there to provide a helping hand. I owe them my thanks for getting me to where I am today and for offering endless opportunities on amazing productions” Jemma Taylor - Location Assistant ‘Such Brave Girls Series 2’
“Claire and Faye have for many years been providing ‘foot in the door’ opportunities, work experience, mentoring and training. They have developed a course to specifically help those with little to no experience feel prepared to tackle the challenges of a career in TV & Film which has successfully bridged the gap between education and employment. I came across the Location Assistant course years after graduating University. I had found it difficult to break into the industry and lost both enthusiasm and confidence. 10 days after completing the course, I found work as a Location Assistant on Hollyoaks and have been there ever since.”
Louise Russell - Location Assistant ‘Greenland: Migration’ / ‘Heads of State’ / ‘Hollyoaks’
“Claire and Faye are hugely respected location managers in the country. Even if they aren't on your job they are always there to give advice or direction. I am incredibly lucky to have been trained by both of them and you really will be learning from the best in the industry. They prepare you for every type of shoot, I've enjoyed freezing cold cliffs to muddy forests with these lovely ladies! I wouldn't be where I am without both of them and I am very lucky to have had all the experiences I have had with them.”
Toni Jordan - Assistant Location Manager ‘This City is Ours’ / ‘After the Flood’
“Starting out my career in locations with Faye and Claire was so worthwhile. It gave me the chance to train in a safe, moderately paced environment. I learnt so much during my time with them. Claire and Faye will not only train you up to the highest standards, but they will treat you with kindness and respect and they will do everything in their power to help you to progress and get out into the big wide world of TV! I owe them both a lot and I am forever grateful for the brilliant advice they have given me (and still give me!) to this day.”
Kristie O’Brien - Assistant Location Manager ‘Talamasca’ / ‘Gentleman in Moscow’ / ‘Red Rose’
“Claire’s mentorship and training allowed me to inherit her high standard of professionalism and ‘I care’ attitude approach. Claire holds the key to many doors into the film industry. My journey in Locations now takes me into my first role as a Unit Manager, which Claire predicted I’d be good at . I’ll forever be thankful for the invaluable tutelage, experiences and friendship offered, when she kindly opened one of those doors for me”
Jack Finlay - Location Assistant ‘The Batman’ / ‘His Dark Materials’
“It’s real life experience with people that don’t just train, but actually do the job themselves! This is a fab initiative! The people behind Liverpool Locations are potentially the nicest & most knowledgeable you’ll ever meet. They have done the job for many years (and still do today) on film productions of every size and shape”
Rupert Wakefield - Managing Director at Buddha Group
“There is no one better to learn from in the industry - Faye and Claire taught me everything I needed to know to give me a head start in my career, whilst both being incredibly professional and also genuine, kind people. They have a wealth of experience to share, and will give you all the tools you need to take straight onto set”
Rosie Cameron - Location Assistant ‘War of the Worlds’ / Hollyoaks’ / Buddha Group Brand Manager
“When deciding to step into the film and television industry, I had no idea how tough it would be to get started and how much there was to learn. Upon realising the scale of information I needed, I decided to reach out to Faye and Claire to join their locations course. While the obvious focus of the course is about locations, Faye and Claire provided an intensive look into how sets work and explained different equipment that might be used. They truly do want to see you flourish. If you get the opportunity to sign up for the course, I will strongly recommend. You don’t just get a chance to learn so much about locations and sets but you get to connect with two incredible women.”
Kirsty Lloyd - Production Runner / Location Assistant
“A very Informative and interactive course delivered in accessible way. Faye and Claire’s mentorship and knowledge has helped gain a footing in the industry and secure numerous job opportunities in a short space of time”
Heather Cooke - Marshal / Location Assistant ‘Peaky Blinders- Feature Film’ / ‘This City is Ours’
“As the Liverpool Location Manager on Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool, Faye Newton used her expertise to source and procure the most authentic places to reflect the setting of the story. She understood the brief and her excellent negotiation skills meant the production stayed on target with the location budget.”
Barbara Broccoli (Film Producer)

Sarah Crozier - Marshal, Location Assistant, Art Department Assistant
“I didn't know anything about the Locations Department and I didn’t think it would be something I would do as a career, but Claire and Faye gave me all the knowledge and understanding I needed to progress in the industry. Not only did the ladies help me so much at the beginning, but they have continued to support and help me throughout my whole career and continue to help so many people get into the industry and enjoy themselves while doing it. I owe a lot to them both for everything they have done for me throughout the years.”
